HP 2509m 25-Inch Diagonal Full HD LCD Monitor – Handy Desk Monitor
I got myself HP 2509m 25-Inch Diagonal Full HD LCD Monitor (Black) to change an older LCD. Worked fine right out of the box with my Acer laptop and its particular built-in ATI graphics card. My previous exposure to 15-17″ widescreens was poor simply because they stood a smaller effective screen height than 4:3 which triggered tiny text and graphics for any given screen size. For example, my 15.4′ laptop widescreen is quite challenging to view using the native resolution of 1920×1080. The 25″ diagonal width resolved being a comparable height as my 4:3 LCD that is things i wanted: Some want to lose any screen height. My 19″ LCD 4:3 displayed 1280×1024 and also this HP displays 1920×1080 and so the text and icons are about the same size. I take advantage of this for business purposes so the widescreen format wasn’t important but getting the extra screen width with the same height as the monitor I was replacing was very important to viewing multiple windows side by side. I ended up buying a Planar dual display mount and also have the older monitor as well as the HP hand and hand in dual display mode. The Acer ATI card is effective at dual monitor displays. I have A lot of workspace now and although it looks a bit odd having a 4:3 close to the widescreen, it functions well personally.

The stand might be a flimsy and the monitor will wiggle if bumped. As I stated above, I took the stand off and employ the Planar dual mount that is very rigid. When it comes to screen, the monitor has excellent contrast and color. Yes – The screen is a little shiny and contains just a little reflection however it is no worse than CRT’s but this shiny front provides the monitor the rich colors and excellent contrast.
