Description

Computer manufacturer Dell has finally entered the smart phone market with the new Venue Pro. The phone runs with the Windows Phone 7 operating system, and it may just be the best of its class. The Dell Venue Pro has several of features that are just great for entertainment purposes. Probably the most noteworthy item on the Venue Pro is the very large 4.1 inch AMOLED screen that approaches the Samsung Super AMOLED in quality. Although the phone does not have 4G internet access, it does have a high quality processor that provides some of the best performance found among Windows Phone 7 devices.

As mentioned before, the Dell Venue Pro is perhaps the best out of all the Windows Phone 7 smart phones out right now. With the phone AMOLED screen and powerful processor, the Dell Venue Pro is made out to be an amazing device for entertainment. The screen has a 4.1 inch diagonal while most other smart phones do not exceed 4 inches. Resolution is WVGA 800 x 480 pixels with good contrast ratios and bright, rich colors. The curved glass display is scratch-resistant but you will probably want to use the device with a Dell Venue Pro screen protector. The 1GHz QSD8250 Snapdragon chip gives this device what may be the best performance in the Windows Phone 7 class.

The phone also has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, which will provide your Venue Pro experience with more manageability. The keys also light up, so you won’t have to worry about not being able to see the keyboard in lowly lit environments. Optionally, you can use the very well-designed onscreen keyboard. Unfortunately, the smart phone does not operate at 4G internet speeds, but you can manage about one to two mbps on the T-Mobile connection. Users can use both Bluetooth 2.1 and Wi-Fi connectivity or they can plug into a USB 2.0 socket. A plus for entertainment enjoyment is the phone’s high speaker volume.

T-Mobile offers a number of programs with the Dell Venue Pro like the Family Room, an application that allows you to organize family events with a calendar, whiteboard and other features. T-Mobile TV is a mobile television app that allows you to watch digital TV on a fee basis. The phone comes with GPS location technology and you can augment this with the fee-based Telenav app that gives precise directions. Social networking apps for Facebook, Twitter and Google Talk are built-in allowing you to access your online friends from a wide range of locations. The Venue Pro has full Flash capability including playback and is equipped with features like FM Radio, geo-tagging and instant messaging.

Hardware-wise, the Dell Venue Pro has 512 MB RAM and 1024 MB ROM with 8 GB of internal storage. The 5 megapixel camera features auto focus and digital zoom, and can capture high definition video at 1280 x 720 resolution (720p HD). Unfortunately the battery quality is not that great, so you will have to charge the phone frequently when used frequently for entertainment purposes. You can get about seven hours of talk time and 336 hours of stand-by time with the Venue Pro’s Li-Ion battery. Both the music and video players support a wide variety of formats including WMV, MPEG4, and 3GP video files, as well as MP3, WAV and MIDI audio files.

Dell Venue Pro accessories are widely available on internet shopping websites. Just use any of the major search engines, like Google or Yahoo!, and you can find a large range of different kind of sites to choose from. For example, if you want a Dell Venue Pro case, there are many online venues that will allow you to compare a wide range of products according to criteria that you select.
