Adobe Photoshop Express - Edit Photo Online
Adobe has launched the Adobe Photoshop Express public beta, which is an all-new free Rich Internet Application (RIA) available to anyone who is keen on storing, sorting and flaunting digital photos with breathtaking effects. Unlike Adobe’s more powerful image editing tools for the desktop, Photoshop Express is aimed not at the professional photographer, but at the casual snapshot fan looking to polish up images before sharing them online at sites like Photobucket, Facebook and Flickr.
By releasing a beta version of the Photoshop Express, Adobe is seeking a user response on the product’s features and functionality. The new software incorporates the company’s supreme image editing technology and has thus been evolved as a simple and easy-to-access product targeting at a new online audience. Upto 2GB of images can be stored online absolutely free. Users can edit their photos, share them on the internet in exciting new ways by downloading and uploading photos from well-known social networking sites such as Facebook. Photoshop Express, which will compete with other free image editors like Picnik and FotoFlexer, is tailored toward the casual user with easy-to-use, one-click editing tools. And while it’s new creation has a few disadvantages when compared to other online tools, Adobe’s name recognition and status as a long-time leader in pro photography technology should be enough to attract the crowds.
Photoshop Express offers two gigabytes of online storage space and requires Flash Player 9. The interface should be familiar to anyone who’s used Photoshop or Photoshop Elements and offers tools like cropping, red eye correction, sharpening, touchup and more, including a set of advanced effects for changing colors, distorting images and converting photos to black and white.
Upload and sort digital photos anytime, edit non-destructively to always preserve the original image, and share from anywhere, on any Web browser.
In a few easy clicks, make standard edits, such as removing blemishes and red-eye, converting to black and white, cropping and resizing, and much more. No experience is required to add special effects that will impress friends and family.
Use Pop Color to select an object in an image, mute the background color of the photo and swap the object’s color, so it jumps off the page.
Make photos look like drawings with Sketch effects.
Use Distort feature to distort facial features or objects within the images for a comical or artistic effect. Even users with limited photo editing knowledge, can simply select what looks best from a line-up of sample photos, which provides a series of visual hints showing different variations of the added effect.
Using the service is just a matter of either uploading your photos from your computer or connecting to your existing online photos by entering your Facebook, Photobucket or Picasa password.
Upload and show off photos and slideshows in your own online “Gallery” hosted by Adobe.
Conveniently embed or link photos to social networking sites and personal blogs without having to leave the application.
Make your slideshows look better with animation that makes photos float and fly across the screen, allowing for viewer interactivity and unique presentation styles.
Once you have the images loaded in Express you can create albums to organize and share your photos from the Adobe-provided URL, and double clicking any image will bring up the image editing interface. Once you’re happy with your edits just hit save and, if it came from an online site, it will automatically be added back to the site.
